Okay, it was a long road to find a dog bed that was indestructible when our dogs were pups. When we went to work we kenneled them outside. We did this because they couldn't be left alone in the house yet. We did this for about a year. We hated it, but we wanted a house intact when we came home. (We couldn't install a doggy door since we had outdoor cats. Carolina the shepherd-mix is very prey driven.) We would try the plush beds and in a day they would be ripped or unzipped with stuffing all over the place. So, I would get online and look and look at doggy beds. I finally came across Kuranda Dog Beds. I saw these beds in shelters all the time, so I knew that they had to be tough. However, they didn't look comfortable, so I wasn't sure our dogs would use them. On top of that, they were expensive. We debated back and forth to buy them or not. We finally did and were happy with the results, eventually.
The dogs would use them. Sometimes Carolina would use them as her toilet. We were not sure why she did this, but she eventually quit. During this period it wasn't easy. We would come home and spend our time scrubbing the canvas clean. They finally got to where they used them all the time (and not as a toilet). Now, since they are not kenneled and older, they are used as outdoor beds by our back door. Whenever they go outside and tire of playing, we usually find them napping on them. We have had them for about five years and have not had one problem with them. They simply are indestructible!
